Born of Angolan renaissance in the Information Age, Kuduro, which means 'Hard Ass,' is the cultural expression of a new international and post-war generation. Os Kuduristas, a global initiative designed to introduce Kuduro internationally, is bringing Kuduro's powerful form of expression to Paris, Amsterdam and New York through interactive events and programs in September and October, 2012.
And the party continues…Live At The Loft is back for another dust-up with Episode 11. This go-round, we’ve got DC’s own golden girl Muhsinah finessing the microphone. In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve dressed up the Loft a bit with a vintage wooden drum kit and a newly donated standing floor lamp to add to the ambiance. It seems the lady of the evening has hit rush-hour traffic on her way to NJ, so we’re entertaining ourselves in lieu of an early soundcheck. Once Muhsinah and the band arrive, it’ll be time to make that magic…
Our 2013 come back show was a win. Thanks much to Oddisee, Olivier Daysoul and the whole band. This took way too long to make happen but it was worth the wait. Special thanks goes out to Hot97's Peter Rosenberg and L-R-G. Yerp!
Originally created by "Amazing Ghost" Come one, come all…it’s the Live At The Loft crew, back once more to stimulate the senses. It’s not a fit night out for man or beast, but on this relentlessly rainy evening, we’ve invited Brooklyn transplants Greg Walters and Cason Kelly to take shelter from the elements and get a little experimental with sounds. Together, the fellows are known as Tiny Victories, and they have humbly obliged. We’re missing our trusty show director Tone for this outing, as he had to put in some work overseas, so we’re winging it in the absence of the maestro. Don’t worry Tone, we got this… tinyvictories.bandcamp.com
